Jeff is a familiar and welcomed person around the City, having lent his interest and support to a number of key ventures over the years. With our collective warmth and appreciation, the Downtown Association Board and members extend a hearty “Congratulations!” on being our new City Manager.
Jeff is the speaker at our October monthly meeting. He will offer a quick overview from his seat, then be open and available for questions. (Note: you don’t need to be a member to join us for coffee, bagels, and networking! Fourth Friday, 8:30-9:30am, at the Englander.)
Jeff’s official background:
Jeff Kay was appointed City Manager of the City of San Leandro in July 2018. Jeff has been employed by the City of San Leandro since 2009. He served as Assistant City Manager since 2016 and previously worked as the City’s Business Development Manager. He has played a key role in the development of the City’s fiber optic network, the craft brewing cluster, a robust public art program, and multiple successful revenue measures. Previously, Jeff worked as a Project Manager with Willdan Financial Services where he assisted city and county governments with economic analysis and infrastructure financing. Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree from Vassar College and a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
We are very grateful for the City’s ongoing support as members of the Downtown Association, and for their participation in our Downtown Farmers’ Markets and all of our free Events. Our City is a great and active member of our community.
