Meeting update below!

SL Downtown parking mapJoin us for a Downtown Parking Update at our next Monthly Meeting, Feb. 23rd, 8:30am at the Englander.

The City of San Leandro is implementing a Downtown Parking Plan to help regulate Downtown parking, improve parking utilization and to reduce parking impacts on the surrounding residential neighborhoods.

We want to update you to ensure the Downtown Parking Implementation Plan reflects the needs of Downtown Businesses.

Need a PDF copy of the Downtown Business Update Flyer to share with your friends? We’ve got you covered.

UPDATE from the meeting:

Here are the slides from our speaker.

A few notes from our members:

  • We don’t have enough parking downtown to serve everyone’s needs.
  • Adding new parking isn’t a viable option at this time.
  • The big parking garage at 100 Estudillo and 14th Street is underutilized (lots of room available!), especially on the upper floors.
  • Parking zones are coming—see slides 5 and 6 on the left. The zones will have different rates for parking within them. The issue will be raised at the Council meeting in June.
  • You won’t be able to park in the same zone multiple times in a day. If there’s a two hour limit, you’ll be limited to two hours in that zone.

Additional notes:

  • The parking app is free to the City, but the app will charge a $0.30 transaction fee to your credit card along with your parking fees.
  • The City will be doing Residential Outreach in the next couple of months.
