From the City of San Leandro:
Please save the date for Wednesday, September 21, from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Senior Community Center (13909 East 14th Street) in San Leandro for a City-sponsored Community-wide Workshop to receive broader public input on the future of the Bay Fair area (including the Bayfair Center and Bay Fair BART Station). The City is in the process of preparing a long-range Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Specific Plan to revitalize and improve the area within the City boundaries (see attached Plan Area map). The public planning process began this past spring with the appointment by the City Council of a 21 member Community Advisory Committee (CAC) consisting of a diverse group of residents, property owners and businesses (including 4 representatives from the nearby County unincorporated areas). The City also set up a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) consisting of key public and private stakeholders such as BART, Madison Marquette (owner of Bayfair Center) and Alameda County.
The September 21st workshop will seek public input on the future vision, desired land uses and priority public policies for the proposed Bay Fair TOD Plan Area, while also presenting preliminary concepts for key street/intersection improvements and future development scenarios. Please note that these design and development concepts are preliminary and for public discussion at this early planning stage and subject to change based on community feedback. The City anticipates the Draft Plan will be prepared around Spring 2017 for public review after further public outreach has been achieved.
The City cordially invites not only interested people and parties from the City, but also persons in the nearby unincorporated Alameda County areas to this workshop.
If you are a representative for an association, board, or other membership based group (such as a homeowners associations, Chamber of Commerce, business association, neighborhood based organization, etc.), please forward this email to your members.
